Printing—dye/pigment printing and dyeing pattern

Printing is the most common bedding pattern design process in home textiles. It is often used for bedding of 40 count or less. There are two types: pigment printing and reactive printing.

Pigment printing is a printing and dyeing process that directly covers the surface of the fabric with a mixture of paint and adhesive. On the reverse side, there are only a small amount of dyeing traces, and the paint particles are relatively large, so the printed area feels slightly harder and thicker than the unprinted area, and the air permeability is relatively poor. Because of the adhesive, the printing part will be sticky, the color fastness is low, and it is easy to fade.

Reactive printing is a printing and dyeing process that penetrates reactive dyes into fabric fibers, so clear printed patterns can be seen on both the front and back. Reactive printing does not require the addition of azo and adhesives, so it can be guaranteed to be harmless to the human body. The fabrics are often bright in color, have better color fastness, are not easy to fade, and are softer and more breathable.

Embroidery - colorful yarn embroidery pattern

Embroidery is also called embroidery. It has a history of more than 4,000 years in our country. As early as the Spring and Autumn Period, people have applied embroidery technology to the beautification of life. It can be said that it is one of the earliest techniques used in the beautification of bedding in my country. For 40-60 bedding.

Embroidery is similar to printing, and it is also a process of reprocessing on woven fabrics. Embroidery patterns are generally embroidered by silk/golden/matt light of different colors by hand or machine. Generally, embroidery techniques are used in relatively high-end products.

Compared with printing, embroidered bedding is less likely to fade when washed, and has better air permeability and moisture absorption. Therefore, in the case of the same fabric and the same area of embroidery/printing, the price of embroidery bedding will be higher.

Jacquard - embossed pattern

Different from printing and embroidery, jacquard is not a process for reprocessing on woven fabrics, but a process in which different colors of yarns are interlaced to form convex and concave patterns during the weaving process, which is common in high-end bedding products with more than 80 counts.

Jacquard technology is divided into jacquard and small jacquard. Jacquard is a pattern formed by hundreds of thousands of warp and weft yarns, which can be plain weave or satin weave; small jacquard is a pattern formed by using two or more weave changes. Weave, generally appearing as geometric plain/twill weave flowers.

The simple distinction is that jacquard is mostly flower-like patterns, and dobby is mostly simple geometric patterns such as stripes or lattices.
